Welcome to the Kalamazoo Valley Chapter Trout Unlimited!
When you join TU, you are joining a national organization of 152,000 individuals in 450 local chapters. Every new TU member is put on the mailing list of, and becomes a member of, the chapter with the closest zip code to his or her home address. KVCTU has about 550 members. Our chapter’s mission statement is
To conserve, protect and restore North America’s cold water fisheries and their watersheds, and to promote angling in a sportsmanlike manner.
Although trout and their environs are special to us and are at the heart of our organization, many of our members enjoy the pursuit of other species as well. Also, most of us are fly fishers, but TU takes no position on fishing methods, and all conservation minded fisher persons are welcome. Similarly, many of us practice catch-and-release, but that is a personal preference and that also is not a TU mandate. Some members are able to become actively involved in the club’s projects, while others primarily enjoy the camaraderie of kindred spirits at our meetings and outings.
Please browse through the various tabs on our website to learn more about our history, what we do, and how you can become involved!
A list of upcoming events is shown in the panel to the right, and a complete activities calendar is shown under the Activities tab.
Please click on the event of interest for more details. All of our chapter’s meetings are open to all members and the general public.

- Project Healing Waters will be holding its Fall Float Trip for our Veterans on September 18, 2017 on the Muskegon River. The Trip will begin at the Pine Street Boat Ramp at 8:30 am and will end at the Thornapple Boat Ramp at about 3:00. KVCTU helps sponsor this activity in conjunction with the VAMC in Battle Creek, MI.
- KVCTU is having our Free Family Fun Night /General Chapter Meeting on September 21, 2017 at Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery. We have activities for the whole family; casting for trout, a cookout, a tour of the fish hatchery and more. This is a great opportunity for members and non-members to get to know a little more about the conversation efforts our chapter engages in. Families can find out more about the opportunities for your children to attend our Youth Trout Camp, etc. If you are interested in becoming part of the most active Trout Unlimited Chapter in the nation, you will have the opportunity to talk to our members about our organization.
****We have included the latest information on Michigan’s Arctic Grayling Initiative -Action Plan that has been developing . The article is an interesting read and provides a serious look at the re-establishment of the Arctic Grayling to Michigan waters.
***We are changing the location of our General Chapter Meetings. The new location for the majority of our meetings is: The Fetzer Center, 2350 Business Court Kalamazoo, MI 49008. The Fetzer Center is located at Western Michigan University.
